Okay, I have to say this, or I will go mad. I'm getting really fed up with constantly reading questions that say , "Can I download this/that for free?". I work in a cinema and what you all want to do is tantamount to copy write theft. For heaven's sake stop breaking the law, and put your hands in your pockets and get money out. Pay for movies, video, etc, and stop expecting everything for nothing. Downloading is piracy and is illegal and puts the jobs of people like me in jeopardy. And before you say the cinema is too expensive - don't bother. it doesn't excuse piracy or breaking the law. My question is:

A) Why do you persist in doing it?

B) Any cinema person totally agree?
lol why pay wen its free and 2 instead of compalining get a real job instead of serving popcorn merry christmas lol
Its my first job... and its a "customer service" resume that i have to hand in.. pleeaaaasse pleeaaase... help
ive gone to 100's of sites.. i havent found anything...
its my first job i ever apply to.. and its not a huge company or anything.. its a video-DVD store, its just a job on the go..
n i dont have any clue how to start.. even though ive seen 10000 sites that give out free examples, but no use,,,
would some1 have the heart to take the time out, and write me one? i really need to start working..
If you have Microsoft Word they have templates that you can use. Its simple. It tells you examples to write and where. Don't get discouraged, just get to work. I doubt someone will write you one anyway since it is based on YOUR experience. There are also plenty of people here that will look it over before you turn it in.

Farm dogs need big grooming job- specific details?
I asked this question a while ago:

And like the best answer I suggested said to brush out, bathe, dry then brush out. But I have specific questions.

1. What type of brush do I need to use? What could you recommend? Would this be okay?

If so, what size of brush (medium/large)?

2. Is there any special type of brushing technique, or can I just start from the top and brush down?

3. When I encounter matting (which I will), should I brush through them, and how? Kind of like if you had a knot in your hair? Or should I cut them out?

4. For the bath, what type of shampoo if any (of course dog shampoo)?

5. To use the shampoo, what type of motion should I use (circular, up and down)?

6. The shampoo needs to be rinsed out thoroughly right?

7. The baths will be in winter, so fairly cold. What should the water temperature be (lukewarm, semi warm)?

8. Drying-in circular motions?

9. One dog will have a bath, but is not terribly fond of them. Should I have treats on hand to praise good behavior?

10. One of the dogs is very old, and has joint problems and arthritis, so does not enjoy brushing at all, I won't attempt a bath. What can I do for him? He will really need a grooming, is there any way to be very gentle? Or if it is bothering him too much should I just leave it? Should I try a dry bath?

Sorry for all of the questions, but these dogs only get a grooming a couple times a year, and when they do they really need it, so I want to do the best job possible. If it is easier to refer me to a quality video, feel free to do so.

THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH IN ADVANCE!
Well I didn't see your other question, so I don't know what kind of dogs they are. Basically with mats, some can be brushed out pretty easily and some would be like ripping out dreadlocks. Use your judgement on what they seem most like. If they are more dread-like then they need to be shaved, it would hurt the dog too much to try and brush out.

I would use either a pin brush or a slicker brush (hard) to try and get out the matted hair. You could also pick up a dematting rake which works WONDERS if the mats are more like tufts of hair. It also make it easier to wash the hair because they get out a lot of undercoat.

To make sure a dog is REALLY dematted, you need to start from the bottom and push up the hair and then use the brush to pull it down. Brushing a dog from top to bottom will only brush the surface and not get underneath. This is really important because if the dog is still matted when you wash him, he won't get very clean.

Just scrub scrub scrub, no specific motion, just use your fingertips to really scrub the skin. In terms of type of shampoo, just don't get any of the super cheapo brands, they kind of sketch me out (Hartz type labels). We use hydrosurge products in our salon, but there are plenty of other fine ones to use that you can find in pet stores.

Make sure the water is decently warm, I think around 90 degrees is what they say is 'best'. But if it feels comfortable to you then I'm sure it's fine. Make sure you do get out all the shampoo though, because shampoo will not dry and will leave grease spots and could possibly cause skin infections (same could happen if leaving a mat on a wet dog)

If you're using a force dryer, get really close into the skin to force all the undercoat out and go back and forth quickly. Unless you have a dog like a poodle, this is the best method to getting a dog dry. I don't know if I would attempt bathing them at all if you don't have a dryer (I'm assuming you do though)

You could try treats with the dog that is nervous, but honestly, most of the time if a dog doesn't like grooming it doesn't like it. There probably won't be much positive behavior for you to reinforce, just go slow, talk sweetly and don't be too rough with him. If one of the dogs seems to arthritic to be hardcore groomed, I would just try to brush what I can and leave him. If you think it will hurt him to be groomed entirely, don't bother. I don't think a dry bath would help much if they're matted.

Soooo...yea that was a really long answer, I hope it helped!
What do you guys think of this? If the government won't do their job, then i guess the citizens will?

'Private Police Force' group sets sights on illegal immigrants, plans to make citizen's arrests

By: JOSE CARVAJAL - Staff Writer

LA CRESTA -- Fed up with what it says is a failure on the part of authorities to act on the area's illegal immigrant problem, a group purporting to be residents of the affluent, sprawling and isolated La Cresta, Tenaja and Santa Rosa communities is vowing to take matters into its own hands.

A group calling itself Private Police Force announced last week on a new Web site that it will begin doing the job U.S. Border Patrol and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department aren't doing by conducting citizens' arrests on illegal immigrants and detaining them.

If it follows through on its promise, the group would be taking things further than other anti-illegal immigration groups, such as The Minutemen Project, which have previously deployed their members to monitor the U.S.-Mexico border and only report illegal immigrant sightings.

The Private Police Force is threatening to actually detain illegal immigrants.

"They will be handcuffed to the Oak Trees," according to the group's Web site, so they can be picked up by authorities.

"Don't treat this website lightly," the group states. "We will make Citizens Arrests on Illegal Aliens. We will File Criminal and Civil Complaints if you Hire or House an Illegal. If you have sold a vehicle to an illegal, we will prosecute you under the DMV law too. If you house an illegal, we will also prosecute you under the Zoning Laws."

Wendy Lee, a San Diego-based spokeswoman for the U.S. Border Patrol, defended the job her agency has done in the area. The La Cresta-Tenaja-Santa Rosa area is handled by the agency's Murrieta station, she said, and it has done a good job of both being proactive and being responsive when individuals come to the station with tips.

In this case, that isn't happening, she said Tuesday.

"We haven't had a complaint from the community around (Murrieta) stating there is a problem there," Lee said. "We haven't had any reports that I know of. ... If they want to report it to us, we will take care of it."

When asked whether the Private Police Force group could legally conduct citizens' arrests, Lee said she did not have an answer. If the group is found to be violating the rights of individuals, she said, it will have to answer for that.

"This is a free country," Lee said. "They will have to face authorities."

Though it states it is prepared to identify those in the community sympathetic to illegal immigrants, the group ---- which launched its Web site through an anonymous Internet-hosting company ---- is not yet identifying any of its own members.

The names and photos of those who oppose the group's efforts will be posted on the Web site, www.privatepoliceforce.com, according to a statement on the site. The names and photos of known illegal-immigrant workers will also be posted, the statement says.

Also, arrests will be recorded on video and offered for viewing on the Web site, the group states.

The only information provided on the site about the group's members is that "We have three lawyers and several regular police officers who have pledged private investigation time in our area," and that the group would be hiring "a few security professionals."

Requests for interviews through the group's e-mail address were not returned this week.

According to the group's statement, "Many Mexican illegals are stealing from many residents on the Santa Rosa Plateau, including La Cresta, Tenaja and the surrounding communities." The immigrants camp in the nearby canyons and other areas and are employed by homeowners in the community, the statement says.

Many of them have escaped or have been released from Mexican jails and have lengthy criminal records that include molestation, and murder, according to the statement.

Proof is not offered to support any of those claims.

Longtime La Cresta resident Vicki Long said Tuesday that the area has had its share of problems with illegal immigrants over the years. Though she said she is not aware what the situation is now, Long said there was a time several years ago when illegal immigrants would deal drugs and fire guns from a camp near her property.

The group and its Web site, she said, are an indication that it is probably still a problem.

"I just question why they're having to do that when we've got other agencies that should be handling the problem," Long said. "We pay our taxes for that sort of thing. I don't know why law enforcement isn't helping these people. They sound quite desperate."

Though the group echoes some of the things Long said about the illegal immigrant problem in the area on its Web site, it does so with much more inflammatory language.

In a section of the Web site ---- which appears professionally done and features photos of police officers, barbed wire and a set of hands cuffed behind someone's back ---- titled "How to Recognize an Illegal/Thief," the group offers several tips.

Among the things to look for, it states, are "If they carry a short garden hose, used to siphon gas from your car at night" and "If they carry their lunch in a plastic bag composed of stolen oranges and burritos."
This is what I'm talking about...if the gov. doesn't want to do their jobs then friggin move over and let the citizens do it!! People are tired of the gov. not upholding our laws and just letting whoever cross the borders!! More power to these people. They got tired of waiting for the gov. to do their jobs so they're going to do it !! Good post TY

~add on~ I think I found the site....it looks quite professional....here's the link www.privatepoliceforce.com/n2.asp
OK this site is awesome if you are anti illegal anything then you need to check it out...here's a small quote.
The Uncooperatives

"If we receive any resident opposition, we will prosecute them for interference in a legal proceeding. There are always dissidents who feel they are beyond the law. They may believe Jose is here legally. Well guess what - we’re going to make an example of people like them, because this is a pilot program and we’re going National.

We will be publishing any and all resident opposition names including pictures. We will also publish Mexican worker names with photos. You will become the talk of the Community. "

It makes me want to move there!! These people ROCK!!!!!
Working at Blockbuster??? ......A first job at Blockbuster Video????
Hi.

I was just wondering if anybody could provide me with information on being an employee at Blockbuster Video.
Thanks.
If possible, i want to know such things as wage, what you are expected to do, uniform, personal opinions on anything etc...

I just want to know all and anything anybody is willing to tell me about working at Blockuster.

I know such things as we are allowed five free rentals per week.

But do the free rentals include Blu-Ray? Or PS3 or XBOX 360 games etc?

In terms of answering the wages please dont answer minimum wage or something like $7/hour....Per hour means nothing to me...I want to know how many hours per week the average blockbuster employee works and how much he gets paid for it?

Things such as holidays, sick leave, job flexibility etc......Basically, tell me anything...

Also, what is the best way to apply for a job? I am planning on handing a resume with my application, but how do i demonstrate that i am superior to the other applicants.
I know the Blockbuster near us is huge on customer service. They really go out of their way to say hi to people and to remember you when you come in. That's about the extent of my knowledge.

How many hours an hourly paid employee works per week is based on his/ her availability and the store hours. As we have no idea what your availability is and what the store hours are, there's no real way for us to say, "the average employee will work this many hours." Additionally, because this is your first job, you will not be salaried, you will be hourly. So your pay will be $$/hour. Blockbuster usually starts at minimum wage. In florida for example that's 6.79/hr. If you worked 35 hours that week your gross pay would be 237.65. I cannot tell you what the net pay would be as taxes vary from state to state and county to county. As an hourly employee you will not be awarded sick leave. If you have doctors appointments you will request that time off. If you become ill, you call into work and provide them with documentation (doctor's note) stating you were ill. Blockbuster is closed on holidays and unless you stay with the company for a long time, you will not likely be promoted.
Your resume should include any volunteer experience or past jobs such as sitting, mowing etc. Anything that you can get references from. If you are actively involved with any organizations include those on your resume, as well as any special honors you have received.
Video Game Designer or History Teacher in Connecticut?
Which job should i pursue? I like video games more, and it seems like something i would enjoy, but a history teacher in connecticut can make good money and its more socially acceptable?

Couple questions before hand
- Average money p/ career
- How much free time for VGD?
I would say video game designer...Who knows maybe after a couple years you can open your own development company making your own games....That can turn out to be rewarding
